Nordic championchip in Denmark
Magne Lystad and Evy Garsell defended their victories when the third Nordic championships were decided in Denmark. The year was 1959 and the contest was held in Jutland in October. After the race the talk was that it was Magnes training camp in Vålådalen a month earlier, which yielded results. Gösta Olander on Vålådalen had never seen anyone train as hard as Magne Lystad did.
